Moai !!!

I came across this Moai in the game Sam and Max game, came to know more about it that it is Stone like structure and found in Easter Island, it is more found in Volcanic places. I am totally bold over this game b'cos we go and visit places we normally go in normal world like a TV Station, Moon, North Pole or Easter Island. I like games which take me places like Lara Anniversaries we can visit the Coliseum in Rome and the Pyramid in Egypt...

I love collecting information, have a look at the information about Moai, it is interesting .....

Moai (or mo‘ai) (IPA: /'mo?.??/) are monolithic human figures carved from rock on the Polynesian island of Rapa Nui (Easter Island) between 1250 and 1500 CE. Nearly half are still at Rano Raraku, the main moai quarry, but hundreds were transported from there and set on stone platforms called Ahu around the island's perimeter. Almost all moai have overly large heads three-fifths the size of their bodies. The moai are chiefly the 'living faces' (aringa ora) of deified ancestors. The statues still gazed inland across their clan lands when Europeans first visited the island, but most would be cast down during later conflicts between clans.

The statues' production and transportation is considered a remarkable intellectual, creative, and physical feat. The tallest moai erected, called Paro, was almost 10 metres (33 ft) high and weighed 75 tonnes; the heaviest erected was a shorter but squatter moai at Ahu Tongariki, weighing 86 tons; and one unfinished sculpture, if completed, would have been approximately 21 metres (69 ft) tall with a weight of about 270 tons.

When will this end???

Violence violence everywhere, in every news...I was shocked when i saw this horrible scene in a Pub in Manglore. They were torturing girls, man handling in the name of Culture. What wrong those girls did? Wearing a western outfit or sitting in a pub is wrong than how come the violence justify our Indian culture...I guess those people has forgotten that our India is land of Non - Violence. Our India is know by Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy. Speaking about Girl's day, giving respect to Women, is this way to give respect? What these Sena wants to prove by their act...

Where were the Mumbai's Sena were when Mumbai was under attack? What they are goin to profit by vandalizing schools and other public property. Those Behari were there to pay homage for the brave soldier who gave their lives for our country, instead of lending a hand, they are attacking them fierce fully. All in the name of Language? Do they remember that Hindi is our National Language. I feel anyone causing problem to our Nation language should be convicted...No one has right to stop others from learning or speaking our National Language which is Hindi...

We all waited for 2009 to come, but things are getting more worse than before, when will this end?
